Motorists warned of long tailbacks after road traffic collision in Limerick

THREE units from Limerick Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of a road traffic collision in Limerick and there have been reports of long tailbacks as a result.

Motorists travelling in the area of Banogue village this Tuesday morning are experiencing the delays as units from the fire service attend the scene.

It has been confirmed that two appliances from Kilmallock fire station and one from Rathkeale fire station were dispatched shortly before 9am.

It is said that the traffic has extended to Croom, and those travelling the Limerick to Cork road between O'Rourke's Cross and the junction for Patrickswell should expect delays.

A man has suffered non-life threatening injuries and has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
