WE asked some famous Limerick faces about their favourite Christmas songs.

Sinead O'Brien
PATRICKSWELL native, influencer and entrepreneur Sinead O’Brien is best known for her shapewear business Vacious. The influencer's favourite Christmas song reflects her late dad, Dermot, who passed away in March.
Sinead said: “O Holy Night by Adolphe Adam has to be my favourite as it reminds me of my dad. I have been singing for so many years now and it is my favourite song to perform. My dad used to loved it when I sang it and my mam loves it too.” The influencer also enjoys the Christmas classic Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.
Sinead said: “When I hear this song it is the start of Christmas for me. It is one that gets everybody up and moving and it is a sure sign the festive season has begun. It gives me all the Christmas feels. When you hear those first three notes, you know it is Christmas. It was the first Christmas song I heard this year and it got it off to a good start.”
And wiith The Pogues front man Shane MacGowan passing away this November we are sure to be hearing the Christmas classic more than usual.

Reece Creed
REECE Creed is an up-and-coming influencer from Limerick. He is known for his style, confidence and chatty ‘get ready with me’ videos.
The holiday season is a time when Reece loves to shine more than ever as the festivities bring out the joy in the influencer.
Reece explained his favourite song is one that “encapsulates Christmas” for him.
Reece said: “One of my favourite Christmas songs is Last Christmas by Wham! My mother loves George Michael and she was always playing it around the house. I always remember it being on around the house when I was younger waiting for Santa. I love that it is having a resurgence on social media especially on TikTok as it has been all over my feed and it just proves how timeless it is.”
The fashion on show is also a factor for the stylish influencer as to why this song is his favourite.
Reece said: “In later years I have watched the music video and I just adore the aesthetic of it. I love the clothes they wore and George Michael’s hair. I just think it is all so fabulous.”
No matter the occasion we can count on Reece celebrating in style.

Brianna Barry
BRIANNA Barry is an influencer and is best known for her relatable content on Instagram.
Brianna is a student nurse and shares her life as a student and an influencer.
Showcasing the best of both worlds, Brianna, originally from Brazil, has grown an Irish and specifically a Limerick following.
The influencer grew up in Limerick and has so many special Christmas memories from her early years.
Brianna said: “My favourite Christmas song has to be, I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus by The Jackson 5 because I used to sing it in the car with my granny all year when she would collect me from primary school.”

Ed Roche
ED ROCHE is best known for presenting Fully Charged with Valerie Wheeler, a breakfast show on Spin South West.
Ed is from Cork but moved to Limerick to pursue his dream in broadcasting.
Ed’s birthday is Christmas Eve, December 24 and everything about the holiday is extra special for the presenter.
Ed said: “This is a very hard task to pick my favourite Christmas song as I love Christmas music. I love the carols, all the pop numbers, the sad songs, so to narrow it down to one is a task, however, Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone is my favourite. I just love it. It is a happy, feel-good tune and when I think of it I think of joy and that is what Christmas is all about.”
Ed continued: “I remember the first time I heard it at a little disco I went to as a kid and I remember everyone having a good time so I know that is my favourite song.”

Chloe Koyce
DOORADOYLE influencer Chloe Koyce is best known for her beauty tutorials and more recently becoming Irish brand ambassador for makeup brand Flormar.
The influencer grew her following on social media during the pandemic while working as a makeup artist for big cosmetics brand MAC, in Brown Thomas Limerick.
The influencer loves Christmas and takes everything to do with the holiday very seriously. Chloe said: “Michael Bublé is played all year round in our house, however, Fairytale of New York by The Pogues is my favourite Christmas song. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I just love it, everybody does.”
Although Chloe and her siblings are older now, the magic of Christmas is still all around. Chloe said: “The first thing we do in the morning is get our stockings and sit on the bottom of my parents’ bed and open them, it is so magical and has to be my favourite time.”

Sophie La Touche
LIMERICK influencer Sophie La Touche is best known for her hilarious Instagram stories. Sophie grew her following during the pandemic and was best known for her segment 'Sophie's Secrets'. The segment allowed people to open up and confidently share their secrets.
Sophie won people over with her personality and people follow her for her quick wit and charm. Sophie's favourite Christmas song is a classic and one everybody knows when it comes on.
Sophie said: “My favourite song is Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You. That is when it feels like Christmas for everyone. It is the first sign of Christmas for me and you always see social media posts with the song and I absolutely love it. When it comes on in a club everyone gets involved and it just brings everyone together. It is always one you hear and you know it is Christmas. It is just so timeless.”
Christmas will look a little different for Sophie this year as her uncle sadly passed away this year, however, Sophie said: “We will be together as a family and it will be a little easier.”
