Limerick Hurler and four-in-a-row All Ireland winner, Cian Lynch, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the shop
A LIMERICK legend was on hand to open a popular doughnut store, as Krispy Kreme opened its 15th Irish shop in the Crescent Shopping Centre.
Limerick Hurler and four-in-a-row All Ireland winner, Cian Lynch, cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the shop, which saw queues of around 70 people, the first of whom had camped out since 6am on Thursday.
At the top of the queue was Gerard O’Driscoll from Castletroy, who received a Krispy Kreme voucher that will see him well stocked in terms of doughnuts for the weeks ahead.
“I’m so excited that Krispy Kreme has opened in Limerick. I won’t get to keep the voucher all for myself though, because I’ll be sharing it with my sister Aoife who got up at 5am with me to drive me in this morning,” Mr O’Driscoll.
Lunchtime entertainment was also provided by singing sensation Roe Byrne and dancing from the XOD Breakdancers.
“We’re delighted to be here in Limerick this morning for the opening of our 15th Irish shop, spreading excitement and joy across Limerick," said Krispy Kreme's Ireland Country Manager Declan Foley.
