Uisce Éireann are working to restore water supply as quickly as possible on Limerick border area following burst water main.
A burst large trunk water main this Saturday morning has affected nearly 2000 customers in the Old Crotloe Road area in Limkerick and in Limerick border area of Meelick, Co Clare.
Water services engineers are working to complete repairs to reduce the impact on homes and businesses.
Repairs are due to be completed by approximately 6pm, however, it may take two to three hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, water operations lead for Uisce Éireann, Darragh Connelly said: “Expert crews are onsite working hard get repair the burst as soon as possible and restore customers’ water supply. We regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue and thank the local community for their patience.”
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit the Water Supply Updates section of the Uisce Éireann website.
