GARDAI are investigating what has been described as a "suspicious" fire at a derelict house in Limerick city.
Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and gardai were alerted to the blaze at a property at Shanabooly Road, Ballynanty on Monday afternoon.
Responding to a query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson said: "No persons were present in the property at the time of the fire."
They added that the scene has been preserved for a technical examination and that "investigations are ongoing".

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service received the call shortly after 4pm and three appliances from Mulgrave Street station attended the scene.
Firefighters fought the blaze for over an hour to bring it safely under control. While the property was extensively damaged, no persons were injured during the fire.
Gardai at Mayorstone Park station are investigating the incident and they are appealing for anyone with information about what happened to come forward.
