THE family of a young woman who lost her life after being involved in a collision have set up a fundraiser in her memory.

Hannah Frawley, aged 25, from Caherelly, Grange, died on Sunday, August 11.

In her memory, the family has set up a fundraiser to raise funds for Bru Columbanus, which provides “home from home” accommodation for the families of patients in Cork hospitals.

Before she passed away, the young woman was in the ICU in Cork University Hospital for 12 days.

“Before she died, Hannah spent 12 days in the ICU in Cork University Hospital.  While she was there Bru Columbanus provided accommodation for her parents, which was a huge support as they were only minutes away from the hospital,” wrote Hannah’s mother, Liz Frawley, on the fundraiser page.

“Every year, Bru Columbanus provides this kind of support for hundreds of families with critically ill patients in hospital.  Bru Columbanus is entirely funded by donations. In memory of Hannah, Team Hannah are completing the Walk for Bru on 28th September.  Your donation would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to this great fund. We hope you can help by donating whatever you can.”

So far, €13,870 have been raised. You can donate to the fundraiser here.

Ms Fawley is survived by her parents Ger and Liz and her brother Luke.

She is also survived by her grandmother Kathleen, her brother Luke’s fiancée Ellen, her partner Chase, uncles, aunts, extended family and friends.

She was a passenger in a car involved in a single vehicle collision on the R503 at Drominboy, Lisnagry on July 30.

The man who was driving the car, also aged in his 20s, and Ms Frawley were both brought to hospital for treatment.
