ONE OF the few perks of the job is that I get to meet the occasional celebrity.
Getting to interview band members of a rock band which I love is, therefore, next level!
I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to interview Danny O’Reilly and Conor Egan from The Coronas, ahead of their exclusive mini-tour for their latest album, Thoughts & Observations.
I was invited to see them play live in Dolans Warehouse in September and got a signed copy of their new CD.
I interviewed the two lads over Zoom, but met them afterwards, and we chatted once again about their favourite memories while in Limerick.

“We’ve had some amazing gigs over the years there, in Dolans, it has always been an important venue for our career and a big part of The Coronas journey,” Danny said.
“The very first gig we played there was upstairs, there were around 30 or 40 people which we have good memories of.”
Conor added: “We have always had a great relationship with Mick and Neil Dolan. There is always great food, they look after the bands, a lovely dressing room upstairs and fun memories after shows and it’s a great venue - we love it.”
Labelling the nightlife in Limerick as “great fun”, the two spoke of what they get up to post-Limerick gigs.
“We always go to Myles Breens, there is great Guinness in there!,” Danny said.
“We have been into House a couple of times as well and when we were a bit younger, there were a few nightclubs around.. We used to go to the Trinity Rooms!”
