Burglars 'ransack' house in Limerick after entering through open window

GARDAÍ are advising homeowners to lock their windows when leaving the house following a burglary in broad daylight in Limerick.

Burglars “ransacked” a house in Pallasgreen and stole a number of items, having reportedly gotten in through an unlocked window, gardaí have confirmed.

“It happened on Monday just gone, April 7, sometime between 11am in the morning and 3.30pm in the afternoon,” said Sergeant Aoife Bannon from community policing at Henry St garda station.

“Unfortunately, the place was ransacked and a number of items taken.

“It looks like entry was gained through an unlocked window, so we’re just reminding everyone, before you head out, even if it’s only for a short while, to make sure all your doors and windows are locked.”

Sgt Bannon also said “if you’ve got an intruder alarm, do set it”, as “it really does make a difference”.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the Pallasgreen area on Monday, April 7, who may have noticed anything unusual between 11am and 3.30pm, to contact Bruff garda station 061 382940 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
