Funeral details of motorcyclist killed in Limerick collision announced

Motorcyclist Jack O'Donoghue tragically died in an incident on Wednesday night

THE 33-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist who passed away in an accident in Limerick will be laid to rest this Monday.

Jack O'Donoghue, who hailed from Clounreask in Askeaton, died in a single-vehicle accident on the N69 near his home shortly before 8pm on Wednesday night last.

An electrician by trade, the impact he had on people's lives is reflected through the number of tributes paid on www.rip.ie

"A real nice fella. He was even teaching me to be an electrician in Galway," wrote one person.

Another person remembered him as: "One of the most talented goalkeepers in all codes I played with or against over the years, but above all a top man. Never a bad word was said about you nor needed to be, and speaks volumes of who you were a person."

Morgan Heaphy, the principal of Coláiste Mhuire in Askeaton, took time out to send his condolences to the O'Donoghue family on the young man's passing.

As did Limerick County TD Richard O'Donoghue, who wrote: "Deepest sympathy to the O'Donoghue family on the death of Jack. May he rest in peace."

Jack will be reposing at his home (Eircode V94 YK4A) this Sunday, April 13 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral cortège will leave his home on Monday at 10am travelling via William Street to St Mary's Church in Askeaton.

His requiem Mass will take place at 11am, and he will be laid to rest after in Reilig Mhuire Cemetery.

He will be sadly missed and always loved by his heartbroken parents Mary and Jimmy, partner Jane Fitzgerald, brother James, sister Anne and her partner Pádraig Fahy, aunts, uncles, cousins and a very large circle of friends.
