Quiz night to support Limerick's Olympic champions

A call for community to continue making it possible for these athletes to achieve their dreams

Special Olympics Sports Club to host fundraiser

Athletes from Limerick City Special Olympics Sports Club launched the fundraiser

THE Limerick City Special Olympics Sports Club announced its upcoming fundraising Table Quiz.

The event promises an evening of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit all in support of their amazing athletes.

The table-quiz takes place on Thursday, April 17 at the Greenhills Hotel.

In 2024, four of the sports club’s swimmers proudly represented Ireland at an international competition in Monaco, which is a strong testament to the hard work and dedication of the athletes and volunteers.

Local businesses and individuals are invited to support this event by sponsoring a round for €250, by entering a team of four friends, family, or colleagues for the fun-filled evening, or donating spot prizes for a raffle on the night.

Every euro raised directly supports the athletes and helps cover essential costs.

In 2024, generous donations funded €8,000 on transport to competitions, €7,500 for pool rental for swimming programmes, €5,500 for international competition participation, €5,000 for training equipment and kits, €2,500 for social and fundraising events.

The support of the community makes it possible for the athletes to continue achieving their dreams, forming friendships, and representing Limerick on local, national, and international stages.
