A SHOP in the heart of Limerick is now offering a popular gift card, exclusive to Limerick shoppers, for purchase.

The popular Limerick Gift Card is now available to buy in-store at Franklins, O’Connell Street. This is the first store the gift card can be purchased in, as it was only available to buy online or in Limerick Chamber up until this point.

“As a proud local business, we’re delighted to support this initiative,” said Junior Franklin, owner of Franklins, O’Connell Street.

“Offering the purchase of the Limerick Gift Card in store is our way of encouraging people to spend locally and invest in Limerick’s future.”

Backed by Limerick City and County Council, Limerick Chamber and Miconex, the Limerick Gift Card offers a convenient, flexible, and meaningful way to shop local.

Limerick Chamber CEO, Michelle Gallagher, said 'initiatives like this are vital to sustaining our city centre'.

“By choosing the Limerick Gift Card, you're not just giving a thoughtful gift – you’re helping to build a stronger, more resilient local economy.”

Accepted in over 170 businesses in a wide range of retailers, restaurants, cafés, and service providers across the city and county, the card makes for an ideal gift while also directly boosting the local economy.

“We’re delighted that Franklins, a local business in the heart of Limerick city, has come on board as an in-person purchase point for the gift card,” said Brendan Troy, head of trade and investment for Limerick City and County Council.

“This partnership makes it even easier for people to support Limerick businesses and give the gift of choice.”

The gift card can be topped with any amount, giving customers the flexibility to spend as they wish while discovering – or rediscovering – what makes Limerick’s retail and hospitality scene so vibrant.

Franklins are a family-owned business in the heart of O’Connell Street. They are experts in all types of footwear and bag repairs, key cutting, etc.
