EXPECTED long traffic delays to this Sunday's crucial Limerick v Cork Munster championship clash have been exacerbated by a road traffic collision.

Cork City Fire Brigade has shared on social media that crews from Anglesea Street and Cork County Fire Service attended at the scene of the collision on the Mallow Road.

One of the vehicles involved in the collision is believed to be a bus carrying Cork supporters to the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

A garda spokesperson said emergency services attended a traffic collision involving a bus and a car that occurred at approximately 10.30am on the N20 Mallow to Cork Road, County Cork.

"The driver of the car has been conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

"The N20 was closed while members attended the scene and has now re-opened for use," said the garda spokesperson.

It has forced many Cork fans caught up behind it to travel "cross country".

Moving closer to the Ennis Road, there are long delays on all approaches to the city, and the slip-road off the Limerick Tunnel, as 44,000 supporters descend on Limerick.

One example is that traffic is beginning to crawl from as far back as the Four Elms on the Kilmallock Road (R512).
