Plans for a medical centre have been given the green light
PLANNERS have given a clean bill of health to proposals for a new medical facility on the city’s northside.
Arthur Curran has received permission from Limerick’s local authority to transform a detached property at Ennis Road, currently used as office space, to medical use.
According to the plans, the medical facility will feature 16 GP consultation rooms, as well as administration and staff accommodation.

The proposal includes demolition of a single-storey area to the front of the existing building and single-storey garages to its west side.
It’s envisaged the total area of the medical centre by floor space will be 554 square metres.
Twenty-two car parking spaces will be provided, as well as covered bike parking.
Five local residents wrote to council to make observations on the planning application.
One raised concerns about the proposal, given that Laya Healthcare operates a facility nearby at Ivan’s Cross, plus there is a primary care centre at King’s Island.
Council gave permission for the project to go ahead subject to seven conditions.
These include a stipulation that work to extend the facility can only take place on the development between 8am and 8pm weekdays, and 8am to 4pm Saturdays.
