Limerick shopping centre bosses celebrate full occupancy

Three new stores open at Arthur's Quay shopping centre - including Paco clothing chain

Limerick shopping centre bosses celebrate full occupancy

Paco has had a presence in Limerick for 25 years, at Crescent Shopping Centre, but now has opened a second location in the heart of the city

MANAGEMENT at a city centre shopping centre have announced the facility is fully occupied following the opening of three new retail stores.

New traders have been welcomed to Arthur’s Quay Shopping Centre, with a hair salon, a clothes shop and a Ukrainian businesswoman’s craft store gracing the aisles.

International fashion retailer Paco has opened its second store in Limerick to complement its outlet at Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle.

This store is joined by established local hair brand Ger Robinson Hair Designs.

Also commencing trading in the shopping centre is Smetanko Gift Store, which is fronted by specialist crochet designer Tania Smetanko, who came to Limerick as a refugee from Ukraine following the start of its war with Russia three years ago.

Management at Arthur’s Quay have said the shopping centre is experiencing growing levels of footfall this year, with the addition of these three businesses set to further enhance activity and trade there.

Centre manager Ray Collins said: “This is a fantastic milestone for Arthur’s Quay Shopping Centre and will benefit both ourselves and the city centre. Welcoming a national retailer like Paco alongside homegrown brands such as Ger Robinson Hair Designs and Smetanko Gift Store signals real confidence in the centre. With growing footfall and full occupancy now achieved, these are the kinds of positive developments that show what’s possible with the right investment and collaboration.”

Paco Graves, the managing director of Paco, added: “Having traded in the Crescent Shopping Centre for the past 25 years, we are delighted to finally be able to open a shop in Limerick city centre. Paco Arthur’s Quay will stock our new menswear range, which is not currently available in the Crescent. We look forward to welcoming our current and new customers to our beautiful store in Arthur’s Quay.”

Ger Robinson, the owner of Ger Robinson Hair Designs, said: “After three incredible years in our previous location, this next step gives us the opportunity to grow and offer an even better experience for our clients. The new space is modern, welcoming, and perfectly aligned with the high standards and creative energy we’re known for. We’re also excited about expanding into beauty services soon, making it even easier for our clients to feel and look their best all in one place.”

Ms Smetanko, owner of Smetanko Gift Sore, said: “This shop isn’t just a business - it’s a part of my life. From the design to the details, everything has been done with love, and I’m proud to say it’s truly one of a kind in Limerick.”
