OVER 1,000 guests are expected to descend on Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) for the launch of its final year graduate exhibition.
The week-long event has been attracting thousands of visitors since the school’s inception in 1852, due to LSAD’s reputation as one of Europe’s prestigious fine-art, design, and creative media schools.
This annual exhibition celebrates the vision and innovation of LSAD’s emerging talent and showcases the extraordinary work by both Irish and international emerging artists and designers.
The LSAD 2025 Graduate Show, at the Clare Street Campus, Limerick, will be officially launched by Minister Patrick O’Donovan TD this Saturday evening, 31st of May, at 3pm, with doors open to the public from 1pm to 5pm.
The show will run daily from May 31 to June 8, between 10am to 5pm.

Visitors to the exhibition will view an array of projects from a multitude of disciplines, including Fine Art, Fashion, Animation, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Game Art and Design, Interior Design, Ceramics, Photography, Sculpture, Film, Music Technology, and the Bachelor of Education in Art & Design.
Some of these projects include; Darragh Ryan, from Nenagh and a graduate of Print and Contemporary Practice, his work is titled “Why is everything I do a self portrait” and includes the use of boards, canvas, layering, paint, and spray paint.
Óran Curran Coleman, from Limerick, studied Photography and Moving Image. Óran’s piece is titled “The places that hold him” and revolves around the sudden passing of her father in 2007, when she was just six years old.
The exhibit is a series of anthotype prints which is a photograph created using plant materials that are sensitive to light. Óran used the grass from both her family garden and her father’s grave to create an emotive display of family photos from her childhood. Due to the type of photography, the prints will gradually fade over time – reflecting Óran’s memories of her dad.
Méabh Keogh from Limerick has completed her BA in Fashion Design with Sustainability.
Méabh’s work celebrates the heritage and community of the GAA, setting its deep-rooted traditions in contrast to fast fashion. Her practice is rooted in sustainability. Her garments pay tribute to Irish culture while taking a zero-waste approach.
Méabh’s piece has drawn inspiration from worn panels on old footballs and sliothars, marked by physical traces of play and competition.
A special highlight of the opening day is the Awards Ceremony, taking place at 3pm, where excellence and innovation across disciplines will be recognised.
Among the honours to be announced is the prestigious Carmody-Mitchell Global Travel Award – a €5,000 prize supporting the international ambitions of a graduating Fine Art student.
Funded through philanthropic support and unique to LSAD in Ireland, this transformative opportunity is awarded by a panel of esteemed curators and artists.
Awards will also be presented across multiple disciplines for outstanding creativity, innovation, residency opportunities, and academic achievement, including industry-sponsored awards for Graphic Design Communication, Animation and Motion Design, Ceramics, Interior Design Students of the Year, and Spacecraft Artist Residency Award.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dean of LSAD and Director of Cultural Engagement at TUS, Mike Fitzpatrick, remarked: "Every year we are so excited to showcase the creativity and innovation of our LSAD students, who are the next generation of Irish artists and Designers. We look forward to welcoming thousands of guests through our doors throughout the exhibition. We would encourage everyone to take some time to enjoy the collections and works from our animators, filmmakers, fashion, graphic, ceramic, and interior designers and fine artists. There are so many inspiring works, stories, and ideas to marvel at. PS: Bring your friends and future little creatives. "
