SEVEN local businesswomen have been honoured at an awards ceremony in Limerick city.
Members of Network Ireland Limerick - a group set up to support women in business and the arts - gathered at the Clayton Hotel in the city centre for its annual awards.
More than 100 people were present for the ceremony, which was hosted by Network Ireland Limerick president and renowned local soprano Eve Stafford.

She opened the evening with a rendition of the iconic local anthem Dreams by The Cranberries.
She was joined on stage performing by fellow Network members Shirley Keane, Lorraine Galvin and Stacy Franklin.
Special guest on the night was Mayor John Moran, who commended the finalists and highlighted the importance of supporting local enterprise and leadership.
Network Ireland national representatives Joan Walsh from the Cork branch and national vice-president designate, Emma Wilson were also in attendance.
Some 38 businesswomen entered the group’s annual awards, with seven now set to go on and represent Limerick at Network Ireland’s annual awards this September.
Stacy Franklin, who founded Old Singland Road based firm Kanso won the title of emerging businesswoman of the year.
Michelle Daly Hayes of city public relations firm The Launch Agency won the title of solo businesswoman.
Title of established businesswoman went to Roisin Buckley, of another media firm Piquant, based at O’Connell Street in the city centre.
Katie Brennan, who works as a hostess and waitress at 101 Limerick, also in O’Connell Street, was named employee shining star.
Interior designer Celine Gill, of Style at No.5 based in Thomondate was named creative professional of the year.
Meanwhile, a special award for someone working in science, technology, education and maths went to Fionnuala Ward, who works for Nestle in Askeaton.
Prize for networker of the year was given to Denise O’Brien of O’Brien Learning Solutions, based in Shannon.
The judging panel included Elaine Howley of AIB, Aideen Corry of Limerick’s Local Enterprise Office and Karl Daly of Moore Financial, all of whom sponsored the award.
Other sponsors were Ingenium, Johnson and Johnson plus C Thompson and Sons Funerals.
