A DOCUMENTARY exploring the life and career of award-winning Limerick native, film star Richard Harris will be screened in the Belltable on Friday, July 4, marking the launch of a landmark exhibition dedicated to the acclaimed actor, director, and producer.
The Ghost of Richard Harris screening at Belltable coincides with the opening of the exhibition ‘In celebration of From Dickie to Richard – Richard Harris: Role of a Lifetime’ at the Hunt Museum.
The Ghost of Richard Harris is a documentary focused on the late actor, as seen through the eyes of his three sons, BAFTA Award-winning actor Jared Harris, actor Jamie Harris, and director Damian Harris.
Released in 2022, the documentary film won the audience award for Best Documentary Feature at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
This one-night-only event begins with an exclusive Q&A session featuring the documentary’s director Adrian Sibley; acclaimed actor Jared Harris, Jamie Harris, and Damien Harris, sons of Richard Harris.

The trio will offer personal insights into the making of the film and reflect on the remarkable life and legacy of the iconic Irish actor.
Known for his iconic roles in familiar and critically acclaimed films, such as The Field, Gladiator, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Harry Potter, Richard Harris is a well-loved name within the film industry and in his home county of Limerick.
This event is part of a citywide celebration honouring Richard Harris and his indelible mark on film, theatre, and Irish cultural life.
The screening of The Ghost of Richard Harris – a poignant and revealing portrait of the Limerick-born star – is a highlight of the public programme celebrating the launch of the Hunt Museum’s major summer exhibition.
The exhibition will explore Harris’ journey from being a young boy in Limerick and Kilkee to becoming an international acting legend, through a collection of artefacts, film memorabilia, photographs, and immersive displays.
“This event brings together storytelling, film, and family heritage in honour of one of Ireland’s greatest talents,” explained Teresa Crowley, who is director at the Hunt Museum.
“It’s a rare opportunity to hear first-hand from those who knew and understood Richard best,” she continued.
The documentary screening takes place in the Belltable, on Friday, July 4, at 6pm with tickets available now, priced at €20.
