Mr O’Sullivan was extradited to Ireland from the UK on June 25 when he was arrested by gardaí prior to being charged.
Mr O’Sullivan is charged with one count of false imprisonment of a man, contrary to Section 15 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997
The false imprisonment of a man is alleged to have occurred in Croom, County Limerick, on January 6, 2023.
Mr O’Sullivan is also charged with assault causing harm to a man contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997, in Croom on the same date of January 6, 2023.
Mr O’Sullivan did not speak to the court on Tuesday, July 8, apart from confirming he could see and hear the proceedings via the court’s video-link.
The court was earlier informed that the DPP has directed Mr O’Sullivan face trial on indictment, which means matters will be dealt with in Limerick Circuit Court as opposed to the district court.
At the end of the short procedural matter, Judge Coolican remanded Mr O’Sullivan in continuing custody to appear before Limerick District Court again on Tuesday, July 22.
