'Gentle giant': The late Timmy Collins from Abbeyfeale
A SECOND Limerick motorcyclist has tragically perished in collisions outside their native county in the space of a week.
The death notice was published this Tuesday of Timmy (Louis) Collins, aged in his 50s, of Dromalainn, The Hill, Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, who it reads “passed away on Sunday, September 7, following an accident”.
A week earlier, Pat O’Shaughnessy, aged in his 40s, of High Meadows, Gouldavoher Estate, Dooradoyle, Limerick city, passed away on Sunday, August 31 after a collision involving a van in Drogheda.

Mr Collins died in a road traffic collision involving two motorcycles on the Conor Pass on Sunday. A male driver and a female passenger of the second motorbike were brought by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry with non-life-threatening injuries.
Abbeyfeale-based county councillor, Liam Galvin told the Irish Independent that Mr Collins was a “gentle giant” and “one of the nicest people you could ever meet”.
“He hadn't an enemy on the planet. He was so pleasant, so polite. Loved his bikes, just going for his cruises and driving around,” said Mr Galvin.
Mr Collins is very sadly missed by his heartbroken partner Mary, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts Bridget and Madeline, uncle Tim, cousins, all his other relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends, including his friends in the biking community. He is predeceased by his parents Louis and Katie.
Funeral arrangements have been announced - reposing at his home, Dromalainn, The Hill, Abbeyfeale (V94 P9CW) on Wednesday, September 10 from 5pm until 8pm. A traffic management system will be in place with mourners asked to approach from Clash Road / Dromtrasna.

Removal to The Church of The Assumption Abbeyfeale on Thursday, September 11 at 1.15pm to arrive for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Requiem Mass will be live streamed here
Interment afterwards in Reilig Íde Naofa, Abbeyfeale.

Gardai continue to investigate the fatal collision. They appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who was travelling on the Conor Pass (R560) between 4.15pm and 5pm on Sunday and has dash-cam footage, to contact them at Tralee Garda Station on (066) 7102300.
