LIMERICK music lovers are in for a special night this October as celebrated Irish singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke brings his 20th anniversary tour of Since Kyabram to University Concert Hall (UCH).

Marking two decades since the release of his critically acclaimed debut album, O’Rourke’s performance in Limerick promises an intimate and powerful revisiting of the songs that first made him a household name across Ireland.

“Since Kyabram was not only my first complete offering of artistic expression, but the culmination of years applying myself to the learning of a great craft and infusing it with an identity of my own”, O'Rourke reflected.

“Getting to make a record was a privilege I took very seriously and when it came time to, I entered the studio with a collection of songs I felt were strong, and distinctly mine.”

Originally released in 2004, Since Kyabram made an immediate impact, entering the Irish charts at no5 and going on to achieve gold, platinum, and double-platinum status.

Tracks like Galileo, Sarah, No Place to Hide, and We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea quickly became fan favourites and earned O’Rourke recognition from musical legends including Paul Weller, Snow Patrol, Paul Brady, and Eddi Reader.

To celebrate the 20-year milestone, O’Rourke released a special anniversary edition of the album earlier this year, featuring never-before-heard bonus material and a limited-edition Smart Vinyl for Record Store Day.

The vinyl includes new recordings of Galileo (featuring Paul Weller) and Love is the Way (featuring Imelda May).

Now, O’Rourke is taking those timeless songs back on the road and his Limerick audience can expect an evening of heartfelt storytelling, masterful musicianship, and songs that continue to resonate deeply with fans new and old.

The October 25 UCH Limerick show is one of several select performances celebrating Since Kyabram and its lasting influence on the Irish music landscape.

As part his nationwide anniversary tour, with stops from Kilkenny to Derry, Declan O’Rourke will bring the curtain down in Limerick, with his final show taking place at University Concert Hall on Saturday, October 25.

Tickets are still available from UCH's website.
