BREAKING: Gardai hunt down white Audi A4 as woman falsely imprisoned in North Kerry town

GARDAI are investigating an alleged incident of false imprisonment of a woman in a vehicle in Listowel.

A garda spokesperson said it occurred on Clieveragh Road on the outskirts of the town centre at approximately 3.20am this Sunday morning.

"A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested in connection with this investigation and has been detained at a garda station in the southern region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984," said the spokeseperson.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were in the area between Listowel town centre and the R552 Clieveragh Road between 2am and 4am to make this footage available to Gardaí. 

"We are particularly interested in the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon vehicle during this period.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Listowel garda station on 068-50820, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station," said the spokesperson.
