LIMERICK native Paula O’Keeffe, has been honoured on the national stage, after winning the Inspiring Award at the Bluebird Care National Conference and Awards Gala.
Held in Birmingham last weekend, Paula was recognised for her outstanding contribution to care, compassion and community following the support she has given to fellow Limerick man Conor O’Dea, who returned to cycling after a spinal injury with the backing of Bluebird Care.
Conor’s story has captured hearts across Ireland, showing how the proper support can change lives.

Paula has been at the very centre of that journey, not only providing care and encouragement to Conor as he returned to sport but also joining him on the road herself and taking part in this year’s Tour de Munster cycle.
Speaking after receiving her award, Paula said, “It has been such a privilege to walk this road with Conor, from helping him adjust after his accident, to getting back on a bike, and raising money for charities close to his heart. To be recognised at a national level is incredibly humbling, but it's really about teamwork and community. Bluebird Care has allowed me to make a difference, and I am so grateful.”
Bluebird Care COO Mark McInerney paid tribute to Paula’s achievement saying, “Paula embodies everything Bluebird Care stands for: compassion, resilience, and the belief that great care can transform lives. Her work with Conor has inspired people not only in Limerick but right across the country.”
The Bluebird Care Conference and Awards 2025 brought together directors and teams from across more than 200 franchises in the UK and Ireland, marking the brand’s 20th anniversary.
