Gardaí seek witnesses following theft of cash in Limerick city

A WOMAN in her 30s was robbed in Limerick city after cash was blown from her hand by the wind.

"On Friday evening last, 3rd October, at approximately 4pm, a woman in her 30s had a sum of money in notes blow out of her hand due to the windy conditions," said Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station.

"A male suspect then picked up the money, refused to return it, and ran away."

Gardaí at Henry Street are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who was in the Honan’s Quay area after 4pm on Friday and who may have any information about this incident.

Sgt O'Halloran added: "Criminals will always take advantage of any opportunity. I’d like to remind listeners to keep valuables secure on your person, especially when handling cash and always be mindful of your surroundings."
