TO MARK 80 years since the first scheduled transatlantic passenger flight landed at Shannon Airport on October 24, 1945, The Shannon Airport Group has sealed a time capsule, capturing a vivid snapshot of life in 2025.
Part of the “Time, Sealed and Delivered” initiative, the project invited submissions from schools and communities across Clare, Limerick, Galway, and Tipperary.
Entries ranged from AI-generated portraits and letters about the future to reflections on daily life, technology, and climate concerns.
The capsule, buried on airport grounds, will be reopened in 2105.
