My Week with Celia Holman Lee: Hats off to the milliners at Ladies Day!

Asta Lee, Sofia Labus, Mary Davin, Paul and Eva Morrissey and myself after the success of our millinery showcase! Asta, Sofia and I are all wearing designs by Limerick's own Marion Murphy-Cooney!

LIMERICK Racecourse Ladies Day was a true celebration of Irish style, creativity, and individuality. I was absolutely delighted to be one of the judges for the Best Dressed Lady, alongside the glamorous Sofia Labus.

The standard of style was simply sensational, but it was Mary Davin who stole the show. Dressed in a stunning ensemble she rented from Labelle, Mary embodied everything Ladies Day is about, elegance and confidence, winning Best Dressed of the day.

Here I am with the wonderful Mary Davin, the winner of the Best Dressed Lady at Limerick Racecourse!

When it came to our fashion show, Asta Lee and I, of the Holman Lee Agency decided to do something a little different this year.

Rather than a traditional fashion show, we wanted to shine a light on one of Ireland’s most talented creative communities, our milliners. I’ve always believed that at any fashion event, my eye is drawn first to the hats.

Those statement pieces that complete a look and express individuality like nothing else. So, giving the stage to Ireland’s milliners felt not just exciting, but necessary.

We were thrilled to feature the work of three incredible milliners: Mara Bloom from Ennis, Antoinette O’Connell from Limerick, and Jennifer Mullally in Kildare. Their creations were nothing short of breathtaking.

Despite the weather, our milliners’ showcase provided the perfect escape. Guests could come in from the rain, relax in comfort, and enjoy the show while taking in the stunning views of the racecourse through the glass. It created a warm, stylish space that felt both exclusive and inviting.

The Holman Lee Agency models brought the runway to life, wearing an array of exquisite hats styled with Marion Murphy- Cooney’s beautiful designs.
