AFTER 22 years of dedicated voluntary service, a popular lady has announced her retirement from her role with Granagh Development Association, marking the end of an era of exceptional commitment and community spirit.
Mary O’Regan has been at the heart of community life in Granagh for over two decades, generously giving her time, talent, and enthusiasm to countless local initiatives.

She has held many positions within the association — from MC and fundraiser to organiser, social media guru, grants writer, and community correspondent. Her weekly community notes have been a valued feature, keeping everyone informed about parish events, achievements, and celebrations.
Mary’s work has greatly contributed to the ongoing success of the Granagh Community Centre, a vibrant hub for social, cultural, and local life.
Through her vision and commitment, the hall has hosted countless memorable events - concerts, fundraisers, cookery demonstrations, exhibitions, and community gatherings - each one helping to bring people together and strengthen the sense of belonging that Granagh is known for.
Thanks to the dedication of volunteers like Mary, Granagh has rightly earned a reputation far and wide as a wonderful, welcoming community, rich in spirit and full of life. Her efforts have helped ensure that community life in Granagh not only continues but flourishes — connecting generations and creating lasting memories for all who take part.
