ONE OF County Limerick’s busiest playgrounds is set to close temporarily this month to allow for upgrade works to be carried out.

Limerick City and County Council has confirmed that Kilmallock Playground will be closed from Monday, November 10, for approximately one month. The local authority says the works aim to enhance the much-loved facility and ensure it continues to meet the needs of local families for years to come.

Located close to the town centre, the community playground has long been a hub of activity for children. It offers an impressive range of play facilities, including equipment designed for young people of all abilities.

Among the popular features are disability swings, spinner bowl, springers, seesaws, roundabouts, and multi-play units for both toddlers and older children. The site also provides ample seating and car parking, making it an accessible and welcoming space for families from across the area.

In a public notice announcing the closure, Limerick City and County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and it has thanked users and members of the public for their patience while the improvement works are carried out.
