This is part of a scheme from Mid-West Simon Community
ALMOST twenty Mid-West Simon Community residents are moving into 10 newly developed apartments in the city centre.
This is part of the Clann Nua housing model, and 19 people are being moved directly from emergency accommodation into housing, which will address homelessness and support long-term housing in a very practical way.
Developed by the Mid-West Simon Community, in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, the project delivers safe, secure and sustainable housing for people who are making the transition from homelessness into independent living.

The Clann Nua model focuses on creating supportive, community-based housing, where tenants are encouraged to rebuild their lives through stability, connection, and tailored support services.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran said: “The scale of the housing crisis in Ireland, and here in Limerick, is staggering, and the human cost is profound.
“Each home built and each person moved out of emergency accommodation is a step toward restoring dignity and stability.
“These 10 homes represent hope, and they remind us of what is possible when local authorities, housing charities, and communities work together.”
Niall Garvey, CEO of Mid-West Simon Community, said: “The negative effects of living long term in emergency accommodation are well-researched and documented.”
This latest development underscores Mid-West Simon Community’s ongoing commitment to delivering person-centred, permanent housing solutions that respond to local needs and support people on their journey out of homelessness.
