The LAST week of trading before Christmas saw a solid trade all round at Kilmallock Mart.
GVM donated a HEX bullock at their annual festive morning to mark the last sale of the year. Proceeds went to Milford Hospice and Marymount Hospice, Cork. The purchasers were Gerdy and Paudie Ryan, Banteer, Co Cork.
The animal weighed 545kgs and sold for the fantastic price of €3020. Thanks very much to all bidders involved and thanks to Gerdy and Paudie for the purchase. The attendance of boys and girls from Scoil Íosagáin in Hospital added to the fun and festive atmosphere.
Bullocks sold for up to €2980 a head or €4.30 per kg. Dry cows hit €2000 each or €3.38 per kg. Heifers made up to €2830 each or €4.50 per kg.
Runners made up to €1320 each, young calves hit €595. Weanling bulls sold for up to €2160 each or €6.53 per kg. Weanling heifers made up to €1430 a head or €5.17 per kg.
The reopening sale at Kilmallock Mart is Monday, January 5. The management and staff of GVM Kilmallock wish all clients a very happy Christmas and a happy new year.
