A post on An Garda Siochana Limerick’s social media accounts says Mayorstone Community Gardai were on foot patrol in the city’s Historical Quarter last week. While on duty, they observed a man “acting suspiciously”.

“The male was apprehended and searched under the Drugs Act where he was found to have a large quantity of suspected cannabis in his possession with an estimated street value of €1400.

“The male was subsequently arrested and detained at Henry Street garda station. The drugs have been sent for analysis and this will determine the course of the investigation,” reads the post.

The drugs seizure is the latest by gardai in the city’s Historical Quarter.
