PICTURES: Limerick hurlers toast star defender Dan and beautiful bride Yvonne on wedding day

LIMERICK hurling's band of brothers joined as one to toast Dan Morrissey and his beautiful bride Yvonne Maher on their wedding day.

Dan sealed the deal with a loving kiss much to the delight of his teammates.

The rock at full or half back kept it local as the Lisnagry man wed Yvonne in St Joseph’s Church in Castleconnell before driving the short distance to the Castle Oaks House Hotel for the reception.

Among the huge crowd in attendance were many of the men Dan has gone to battle with in the green of Limerick over the years.

The Castle Oaks have shared photos of Dan and Yvonne, surrounded by Limerick hurlers, on Instagram. Yvonne looks stunning in a white silk floor length gown with a V-neckline, flowing veil and en vogue neck scarf.

A post on the hotel's Instagram page reads: “What an absolute joy it was to host the beautiful wedding of Yvonne and Dan, now Mrs & Mr Morrissey, here at Castle Oaks House Hotel.

"Dan, a proud Limerick hurler from Castleconnell, and Yvonne celebrated their special day surrounded by family and friends in a truly memorable winter wedding.”

It continued: “Elegant red accents ran beautifully throughout the day, from stunning red roses to thoughtful details, adding a rich, romantic touch that perfectly complemented the season. Their celebration was filled with love, laughter and unforgettable moments, all set against the romantic riverside backdrop of our venue.”

The post by the Castle Oaks concludes by saying: “We feel truly honoured to have been part of such a special occasion and wish Mr & Mrs Morrissey a lifetime of happiness, love and cherished memories as they begin this exciting new chapter together.”
