Michelle Gallagher only joined Limerick Chamber as its chief executive back in September 2024
THE chief executive of Limerick Chamber Michelle Gallagher has resigned after less than 18 months in the role.
The board of directors at the business representative group has accepted her resignation, which will take effect immediately.
Ms Gallagher, who was not present at the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards back in November, confirmed the news herself in a separate statement, posted to the social networking website LinkedIn.
She wrote: "As with all dynamic organisations, there are moments when strategic visions evolve in different directions."
"It has been a privilege to lead the Chamber and work alongside such a talented team, a dedicated board, and a passionate membership. I am proud of the progress we have made together and am confident that the organisation is well-positioned for continued success," she added.

President Mairead Connolly paid tribute to Ms Gallagher, who only joined the Limerick Chamber as its chief executive in September 2024, succeeding Dee Ryan.
She said: "We appreciate her commitment to the Limerick business community and wish her the very best in her future endeavours. We have already initiated the process to identify a new leader to guide the chamber into its next chapter of supporting and advocating for our members."
The senior leadership team in the Chamber will manage its day-to-day operations for the time being.
The board says it's focused on a smooth handover and is committed to appointing a successor who will continue to advance the Chamber’s mission of fostering a vibrant business environment in Limerick.
