Stellar line-up announced for Irish Chamber Orchestra Limerick performances

Abel Selaocoe will perform in University Concert Hall

THE IRISH Chamber Orchestra have announced a stellar line-up of performances for their winter/spring schedule at University Concert Hall (UCH) in the University of Limerick.

Visionary cellist Abel Selaocoe will perform at UCH on February 3.

Abel's music fuses South African folk sounds with classical Western music.

He is joined by percussionist Bernhard Schimpelsberger and bassist Alan Keary for a thrilling blend of old and new - a dazzling meeting of Europe and Africa.

On Friday, March 6, The Emperor Beethoven in Motion will feature Kristian Bezuidenhout as director and on piano, Dan Bates as principal oboe and co-director and co-director and guest leader Magdalẽna Geka.

The night will feature Beethoven’s Wind Octet in E-flat Major, Linda Buckley’s Fall Approaches and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto - The Emperor with its sweeping power, beauty, and grandeur.

Mozart's World with Henning Kraggerud featuring Joel Bardolet will be on in UCH on Thursday, April 16.

It will be a night of music, stories and insights into Mozart.

Brothers Haydn with Carolin Widmann featuring Gordon Trajkovic will come to UCH on Thursday, May 14.

The night will feature the symphonies and concertoes of Michael and Joseph Haydn.

On Friday, June 19, catch French Reverie with Henning Kraggerud. It will feature Ravel’s Pavane pour une Infante Défunte, Debussy’s La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin among others.
