THERE are long tailbacks on the N20 Limerick-Cork road following a two-vehicle road traffic collision this Monday evening.
The incident, which took place midway between O’Rourke’s Cross, Bruree and Charleville, occurred shortly before 5pm. It is affecting traffic in both directions.
One driver caught up in the rush hour incident told Limerick Live: “One car is in the ditch. Commuter traffic is heavy with long delays in both directions but especially for those heading towards Limerick.
"Gardai are directing traffic and the fire brigade are also at the scene.”
It is not known at this time the extent of the injuries suffered, if any, by the occupants of the vehicles.
Motorists are advised to avoid this stretch of the N20 where possible.
