The death has occurred of John Bourke, late of Well Road, Limerick and Millbrae Lodge Nursing Home.

Peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, on January 12, 2026.

Sadly missed by his daughter Sarah, son John, son-in-law Eoin, brothers Michael, James and Dan, extended family and friends.

Pre-deceased by his sisters Elizabeth, Margaret and recently by his sister Helen.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Wednesday, January 14 from 5pm-6pm. Funeral arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Clare Street, on Thursday, January 15 for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Cormac Forde

Bishopstown, Cork and Corbally, Limerick, peacefully, although unexpectedly after a long illness surrounded by family at University Hospital Limerick, on January 10, 2026. Pre-deceased by his parents Sheila and Nicholas and brother Brendan.

Sadly missed by his twin brother Derek, sister Miriam, brothers Trevor and Conor, nephew Dylan, niece Andrea, sister-in-law Caroline and close friend Rob, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd; On Friday (January 16) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.

Cremation Service at 4.00pm on Saturday (January 17) at the Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork which can be viewed here.

The death has occurred of Eddie McGuire

Huntsfield, Dooradoyle, Limerick

January 11, 2026, peacefully, in The wonderful care of Milford Care Centre.

Dearly loved father of Ciara Cowhey.

Beloved son of the late Edmond and Norita.

Sadly missed by his loving sister Ann (McNamara) and brother Michael (Melbourne), son-in-law Jack, his adored grandchildren Chloe and Charlie, brother-in-law Michael, nephews, extended family and a large circle of close friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Thursday (January 15) from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Funeral arriving at St. Nessan’s Church, Raheen, on Friday (January 16) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Jim Ryan,

St. Augustine Place, Limerick City, Limerick

Formerly of Limerick Motor Works and Treaty Batteries and Oil, Brown's Quay, Thomondgate.

Passed away peacefully, in the exceptional kind care of Athlunkard House Nursing Home, Westbury, in the early hours of Monday, January 12, surrounded by family members, aged 92.

Pre-deceased by his parents, John and Bridie and his brothers Gerard, Jack and Michael Noel.

Jim will be sadly missed by his sisters, Evelyn Fitzgerald and Maureen Sparling, his ever loving and attentive nieces and nephews, cousin Marie Hartigan and family, faithful family friend, Precious Russell, neighbours and loyal friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Athlunkard Street, on Friday, January 16 for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Funeral afterwards to Shannon Crematorium for 4pm Service.

Peacefully in Rome, Italy. 

Pre-deceased by his parents Vincent and Mary (nee Flynn), brother Diarmuid, sisters Anne Magner, Pamela Kelleher, Maureen Collins. Survived by his son John Joe and his wife Erica and grandson Andrea, daughter Vanessa and partner Alessandro, brothers Vincent, Patrick, Aidan, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.

Memorial Mass in St. Mary's Church Rathkeale on Friday evening January 16 at 7.30p.m.

Richmond Park, Patrickswell, Limerick. 

January 11, 2026, Unexpectedly but peacefully at his home.

Pre-deceased by his parents Jimmy and Bridie, and sister Mary.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sisters Ann, Catherine, Geraldine and Susan, brothers-in-law Pa, Seamus and Seamus, and Ann's partner Richard, nephews, nieces, gran-nephews, gran-nieces, aunts, cousins near and far, relatives, kind neighbours and his friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing on Wednesday evening (January 14) in SS Peter and Paul's Church, Crecora, from 6pm to 7pm.

Requiem Mass Thursday (January 15) at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards to the adjoining cemetery.
