Gridlock near busy Limerick interchange after car collides with barrier

The incident happened before noon near the Rosbrien Interchange

There was a single vehicle collision

A SINGLE vehicle collision just after 11am this morning, Thursday, January 15, on the M7 caused traffic to come to a standstill for just over an hour. 

It's understood a car collided with a barrier and emergency services were quickly on the scene.

Motorists in the Ballysimon and Rosbrien areas experienced delays while emergency services were at the scene of the collision. 

Four units of the fire brigade from the Limerick City station attended the scene. 

They received the call just after 11am and had cleared the scene by 12.15pm. 

The incident occurred at the Rosbrien Interchange, near Ballysimon between junctions 29 and 30.
