The rear of the Bolsters' fire-damaged County Limerick home
A GOFUNDME page has been set up for heroic grandparents who saved their granddaughter from a burning house in County Limerick.
Noel and Margaret Bolster, both aged in their 70s, fought through flames and thick black smoke in pitch black conditions to rescue an infant from an upstairs bedroom. They bravely managed to get the our-month-old baby girl downstairs and outside.

The blaze broke out at their home in the Ballysimon area on the morning of Friday, January 9.
Both Noel and Margaret suffered serious burn injuries and were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Limerick firefighters put out the blaze which was well-established upon arrival. However, their home was severely damaged.

Daughters Nichola and Harriet Bolster set up the GoFundMe page entitled “Help Noel and Margaret Bolster rebuild their home”. Almost €40,000 has been donated to date.
“With no thought for their own safety, they rushed to save their four month old granddaughter. Luckily, all three escaped without serious injury and have recovered well. Unfortunately, the house was completely destroyed.”

Nichola and Harriet say their parents’ house was not just a house, it was a warm, welcoming home, where the door was always open to everyone.
“Many happy memories were made over the years. To create this home, that they were so proud of, they worked hard over countless years and invested all their time, money and love.
“With our parents in their 70s, they cannot carry this financial burden alone. Therefore, we would be so grateful to anyone who can contribute and help us to rebuild their home.”
