BREAKING: Man arrested in Limerick over cross-border terrorism investigation to appear in court

GARDAI have made further arrests as part of a cross-border terrorism-related investigation, said a garda spokesperson in an update this Thursday morning.

“Two men, both aged in their 30s, who were arrested in Limerick and Portlaoise, Co. Laois, this morning have been charged.

“They are due to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning, Thursday, March 19 at 10.30am,” said a garda spokesperson.

A total of four individuals have been arrested as part of this investigation, in this jurisdiction.

“Two other males currently before the courts, will be further charged in connection with this investigation, also before Portlaoise District Court this morning at 10.30am,” said a garda spokesperson.

The investigation is being led by An Garda Síochána Special Detective Unit.

“No further information is available at this time,” concluded the spokesperson.
