12 Scissors by Limerick Youth Theatre has been shortlisted
FIVE different groups and individuals from across Limerick have been shortlisted for Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards (IYFTY).
There are 20 finalists from all across the country and the awards take place in Dublin on March 26.
The shortlist was selected from a screening of projects in Limerick at the start of March.
Limerick Youth Theatre is shortlisted in two categories - Best Group and Best Art Direction for 12 Scissors.
Emerging Limerick Filmmakers are nominated in Best Group for Accowntant.
Director Dara Ajala from Coláiste Chiaráin is nominated in the Animation Ireland Award category for Muchin vs Manchin.

Bala Ahmed's And You Wonder Why We're Like This has multiple nominations and is up for Best Comedy, Bow Street Performance Award and the Screen Producers Ireland Sustainability Award.
Mikey Mahon who is 14-years-old is also nominated in the Animation Ireland Award category for The Leak.
The awards began in Limerick in 1996 as the Irish Schools Video Competition and have grown hugely since and evolved over the past three decades.
The awards will be hosted by filmmaker Sean Treacy and actor, podcaster and comedian Faye Shortt.
All of the entries can be viewed on Fresh Film on YouTube and viewers can choose their favourite for the audience choice.
