Gardaí are appealing for information after two men were caught stealing hundreds of euros' worth of protein bars and energy drinks from a Limerick shop.

The incident happened at a store on the Dublin Road in Limerick City on an unspecified date.

It featured on the latest episode of RTÉ's Crimecall.

Two male suspects can be seen making their way into the shop, with one approaching a central display.

He then takes several boxes of protein bars off the shelf, placing them in front of the other suspect who is standing at a coffee machine.

That second suspect begins packing the bars into his pockets, while the first man returns to the shelf and does the same.

Between them, they take "dozens" of bars, and while approaching the exit of the shop, they can be seen stopping to take a number of energy drinks from the fridge.

The two men leave the shop without paying, after stealing "hundreds of euros" worth of items.

The first suspect is described as being "quite tall," ranging in height between 6ft and 6ft 2 inches.

He is aged in his 30s and has a beard.

He was wearing a two-tone grey hoodie, a black puffer jacket, black shoes, and grey pants.

The second suspect is slightly shorter, being between 5ft 9 and 11 inches in height.

He is also in his 30s.

He was wearing a blue t-shirt under a black puffer jacket, black trousers, and a black beanie hat with red writing saying "Liverpool" on it.

Anyone with information on either man is asked to contact Gardaí on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
