My week with Celia Holman-Lee: The Málaga coast has never looked better!

We love going back to the beautiful coast to relive our fond memories of the honeymoon we had there - some 54 years ago!

AS SUMMER finally begins to come into view, I took the opportunity to get some sun in Málaga before the season fully arrives.

I went with my wonderful husband, Ger, on the eve of our 54th wedding anniversary. We honeymooned at Málaga after our wedding, and it was simply wonderful to see how much has changed and what has stayed the same.

While the holiday was romantic, of course you can always count on me to get some style inspiration abroad - particularly as the opportunity to attend outdoor weddings, dine al-fresco, and attend garden parties will become a reality once the summer properly hits Limerick.

The fashion in Málaga was Mediterranean, with structured flowing garments taking front and centre.

Something that the Spaniards understand better than most is the importance of SPF. When the warm weather arrives, your skin takes centre stage, and it is of the utmost importance that you take care of it. I always say your skin will accessorise every outfit you will ever don.

Irish people often fall into the trap of thinking they don’t need to wear any sunscreen as we see the sun for such a short period of time. This couldn’t be further from the truth! Due to our lack of exposure to the sun, Irish people are very sensitive to the damaging and ageing effects of sunlight.

If you really need a colour there are any number of fake tans that one can pick up in any good pharmacy or a make-up shop, or you can always attend a salon to get a spray tan.

When it comes to skin care - I always think about keeping it simple. Trends come and go, but a cleanser, moisturiser and SPF is all anyone actually needs. Everything else is a bonus.
