Clareview man Paul Ryan is set to take on a unique challenge

A CLAREVIEW man is set for a memorable month of May running five half marathons in aid of Milford Care Centre.

Paul Ryan, 42, who works at Sexton’s Menswear in the city centre, is to cover more than 100km on the five Sundays next month.

He will be pushing himself to the limit running in three organised half marathons, as well as completing two lots of 21km by himself.

It all kicks off with the Great Limerick Run half marathon on Sunday, May 3.

He will also embark on the Estuary half marathon near Kilrush in Clare, and the Ennis half marathon.

Paul is raising money for Milford Care Centre, which provides care for patients with life-limiting illnesses and support for older people.

Staff at the charity supported his auntie Margaret, who passed away there in September 2024.

“After seeing what she went through, and the work Milford does, I said I could never repay them fully for what they did. But it's a way of giving something back,” he said.

So far, Paul has raised €750, but he’s hoping that sum will grow as he completes the half marathons.

He ultimately wants to make the donation to Milford Care Centre in the name of his mum Patricia, who did so much for her sister before she went to Milford Care Centre.

Donate to Paul online at https://eventmaster.ie/fundraising/pages/PR80303283 - or drop a contribution into Sexton’s Menswear at Thomas Street in city centre.
