The workshop takes place in the Limerick Radisson Blu on April 26
A NEW ADHD family network has been set up by three ADHD family coaches to offer practical guidance, share understanding and community connection.
With more than 50 years combined experience, the three coaches work with parents, as well as the children and young people themselves. They also bring their own lived experiences to the table.
“What we’re hearing again and again from parents is that they feel like they’re constantly firefighting,” said one of the founders.
“There can be challenges around emotional regulation, school and homework, routines, and self-esteem and often families don’t feel fully understood or supported,” they added.
The group is bringing its work into communities with an in-person parent workshop in the Radisson Blu, Limerick on April 26.
The founders believe that families raising children and young people with ADHD are often struggling behind closed doors with many parents and caregivers feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and unsure of where to turn for support.
The new Irish not-for-profit social enterprise was set up to provide accessible and affordable support for families.
The Limerick session will offer a supportive and non-judgemental space for parents to connect, share experiences, and gain practical tools to help navigate everyday family life with ADHD.
“This isn’t about telling parents what they’re doing wrong, ” the team said.
“It’s about helping them feel understood, and supporting them with strategies that actually work in real life."
The founders say there is a growing need for this kind of community based support, particularly as many families face long waiting times for formal services.
They hope the Limerick event will be the first of many, as they begin to build a wider network of support for families across Ireland.
