JEROME O'Connell has been appointed the news editor of the Limerick Leader/Limerick Live.
A talented journalist with almost 25 years’ experience in the media, he will take up his position immediately.
A native of Pallaskenry in County Limerick, Jerome has worked at the Limerick Leader since 2001.
He joined as a news reporter and later worked in the sports department. He progressed to GAA Correspondent, a position that he has held since 2005.
The son of Pat and Mary, Jerome completed a BA degree in Media in Mary Immaculate College. Married with two children, he has a keen interest in current affairs and sport.
Commenting on his appointment Jerome said: “It is a great honour to have been given this opportunity and I will do my best to ensure the newspaper and website continue to give a voice to all in Limerick. I’m looking forward to working with managing editor Aine Fitzgerald and all of the staff to ensure the proud Limerick Leader tradition, which dates back to 1889, continues undeterred."
