Limerick native captures Kerry’s majestic landscape in new book

Limerick native has launched 'KINGDOM', his latest photography book

LIMERICK NATIVE Norman McCloskey has launched a tribute to his love for the dramatic beauty and peaceful scenery of county Kerry.

In his latest work, the landscape photographer explores his relationship with the landscape of the west and southwest coastal areas of Ireland. Originally from Limerick, Norman moved to Kerry thirty years ago to escape city life.

In ‘KINGDOM’, he revisits many of the locations that have inspired him over the years, in a bid to find something new.

The book contains 101 colour images, and photos range from intimate details of landscapes, to quiet and serene early morning coastal scenes.

Speaking of his relationship with Kerry, he commented: “Over the last thirty years, my relationship with the landscape in the Kingdom of Kerry has deepened and matured. I know this place now, and I love it more every day. It has provided me with all the inspiration any artist could ever need, and I’m certain it will continue to do so for some time.”

As each image reflects parts of what he loves about living and working there, the photographer added: "Grand vistas, intimate details, imposing mountains, and soft, quiet bogland are all equally important to me. Although this is a personal selection, I hope these images and the subjects I choose to photograph will resonate with the reader, and they can make their own connections."
