Longford's Síona Cahill was recently awarded the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) Diploma Student of the Year for 2021-22.
Síona, former President of the Union of Students in Ireland, is the Account Director at DHR Communications.
The Colehill native is an experienced broadcast communicator, strategist and advocate in the charity and NGO sector in Ireland.
The announcement was made during the PRII Diploma graduation on Tuesday, 13 December 2022.
Síona was awarded the Gladys Mc Nevin Trophy by the Institute for achieving the highest overall mark in the Diploma.
It is an award that honours Gladys Mc Nevin who, in the early days of the PRII, was one of its foremost members.
She was particularly associated with establishing the PRII’s role in education.
The PRII is the professional representative body for public relations and communication professionals in Ireland.
Established in 1953, the Institute promotes the professional and ethical practice of public relations and communications, represents the sector’s interests, and provides for the professional development needs of people working in the profession.
