Longford's all conquering 1997 All-Ireland Ladies Junior Championship winners relived past glories as former players from the county side came together for a special silver jubilee reunion at Longford town establishment PV's.
So unlucky to lose against Clare in the final the previous year, the Longford ladies came back to Croke Park on October 12, 1997 with a vengeance and made no mistake at the second attempt in winning the much coveted All-Ireland Junior Football Championship title at the expense of a strong Tyrone outfit in a thrilling game (2-12 to 1-11).
Longford Leader photographer Syl Healy was on hand on the evening to capture several happy and smiling faces from an evening which was evidently thoroughly enjoyed by all.
