Thousands to descend on Longford Ploughing Championships this weekend

It's been the best part of 12 months in the making and this weekend the fruits of those efforts will be brought to bear as county Longford's Ploughing Championships makes its long awaited return.

 

Now in its 87th year, Granard and more specifically on lands owned by Sean Donohoe, Cartron (within walking distance of Fresh Today), will provide the setting on Sunday for an agricultural showcase that's not to be missed.

It all gets underway from 12pm with a feast of unrivalled entertainment, high class championship ploughing and fun for all the family to enjoy.

“There will be any amount of trade stands and amusements for kids,” said chairperson Barry White ahead of Sunday's spectacle.
