Loch Gowna will provide the picturesque setting for the 40th anniversary of the Cavan Ploughing Championships this bank holiday Monday, May 1.
With entries increasing in the last number of years, this year the organisers are anticipating up to seventy entries which is brilliant for a county not normally associated with tillage and ploughing.
Cavan entrants will also be competing to gain qualification for the National Ploughing Championships.
As well as ploughing, there are a lot of other things happening on the day.
Comedian and RTE's Dancing with the Stars semi-finalist Kevin McGahern (pictured) will be there.
There is also music, amusements, food. trade stands and a dog show.
All takings on the gate will be donated to Cavan Palliative Care.
