The death occurred, in Melbourne, Australia, aged 90 years, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 of James Doyle, Ballymahon Street and Longford Road, Longford Town, Longford. Beloved son of James B. and Teresa Doyle, nee Newman, late of Ballymahon Street and Dublin Road, Longford. Predeceased by his brother Fr Francis, and his sister Marie O’Hanlon. Deeply regretted by his son, Malachi and his wider Australian family, by his brother-in-law Ciaran, by his nieces and nephews, his cousins and extended family. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
James will have a private funeral service in Melbourne which won't be streamed.
Rose (Rose-Mary) Kelly (née Jackson), Alpha Cottage, Ballygilchrist, Granard, Co Longford
The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by her dear friends, in the care of the staff of the Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 of Rose (Rose-Mary) Kelly (nee Jackson), Alpha Cottage, Ballygilchrist, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of Cheshire, England. Award winning Labrador breeder and retired lorry driver for Pat the Baker.
Rose will be forever remembered by her family, daughter Allison, son Raymond, her adored grandchildren Michael and Matilda, great-grandchildren Albert, Jack and Alicia,(predeceased by her dear grand-daughter Sarah). Rose will also be remembered by all her dear friends, work colleagues and all who knew her through the Labrador breeding here in Ireland and England. Safe in the Arms of Jesus.
Resting in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, (N39P0E8) on Thursday, May 4 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.20pm. Private cremation will take place.
John Philip Macken, Northampton, England (formerly Ballinalee, Co Longford)
The death occurred on Sunday, April 16, 2023 of John Philip Macken, Northampton, England and formerly of Ballinalee, Co Longford. Born on January 23, 1936. Husband of the late Margaret (Peggy) and partner of Mary. Father of Bernadette, Elizabeth, Shaun and Brendan. Father in law to David, Andy and Jane. Grandad to Eleanor, Daniel, Kieran and Rebecca. Brother to Betty, Margaret and the late Mary.
John will be received into The Cathedral of Our Lady and St Thomas, Northampton at 6pm on Wednesday, May 10. Funeral Service and Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 10am followed by internment in Kingsthorpe Cemetery, Northampton. The family invite mourners to join them at the café 1850 from 9:15am before the service.

Matthew (Mattie) and Kathleen Lynch, Grieve, Mountnugent, Cavan
The death occurred, peacefully, at home, in the loving care of their family and palliative care team, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 of Matthew (Mattie) and Kathleen Lynch, Grieve, Mountnugent, Co Cavan. Predeceased by their parents and their granddaughter, baby Faye. Mattie is also predeceased by his sisters Patricia, Mary Ellen, Peggy (and her husband Gerry), Theresa (and her husband Pee and their son Kieron), and his brother-in-law Eamonn. Kathleen (née Ginnell) is also predeceased by her sister Philomena (and her husband Gerry), brothers Pat and Michael; Michael’s wife Christine and their daughter Claire; and her brother-in-law Thomas.
Mattie and Kathleen are sadly missed by their daughters Ena, Tricia (and her partner Thomas), Carmel (Gerard), Irene (Vincent) and Jacinta (George); their grandchildren Matthew, Tosh, Darragh and Thadie; Mattie’s sister Annie (Togher); Kathleen’s sister Eileen (Smyth), brother James and his wife Yvonne; their nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Removal to the Church of Sts Brigid and Fiach, Ballinacree, Oldcastle, Co Meath (A82 PY91) on Friday, May 5 arriving at 6.45pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 6 at 1pm, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The death occurred on Sunday, April 30, 2023 of Rev. Peter McEntire C.S.Sp., late of Kimmage Manor, Dublin and Carrigallen, Co Leitrim. Missionary in Ireland, Kenya and Tanzania.
Son of the late Catherine and James McEntire. Predeceased by his siblings Séamus, Tom, Maura, Seán and Myles. Deeply regretted by his nephews, nieces, cousins, Spiritan confrères and his many friends. May he rest in peace.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday morning, May 5 in Holy Spirit Church, Kimmage Manor D12 WP44 at 11am which may be viewed on the parish webcam at Holy Spirit Parish Church, Kimmage Manor followed by burial in Dardistown Cemetery.

The death occurred, at his home after a long illness bravely borne in the wonderful care of his grieving wife Mary (née Charles, Aughavas, Co Leitrim), on Wednesday, April 16, 2023 of James (Jim) Faulkner, (US Navy Ret.) of Brooklyn New York and latterly of St Augustine, Florida. Predeceased by his daughter; Eileen Forrest, his parents and siblings.
Deeply regretted by his three beloved grandkids, son-in-law, brother, sister, many nieces and nephews, extended family, colleagues, neighbours and friends in the Real Estate Business. May Jim Rest in Peace.

Retired Staff Nurse, St Vincent’s Hospital, Athlone, and formerly of Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
Wife of the recently deceased Vincent Keating (January 2023), beloved mother to sons Fintan, Oliver and Pádraig, and daughters Yvonne and Stephanie, and dearly loved Grandma to Conor, Wasini, Oisín, Fionn, Enda, Paul, Maria, Barry, Ronan, Cillian and Eva. Predeceased by her parents Sergeant Thomas Scully and Kathleen Scully; her sisters Mary (Scully), Róisín (Reynolds), Pauline (Fagan) and her brothers Michael, Billy, Paddy, John, Tommie and Peter Scully. Breeda will be forever loved and greatly missed by her heartbroken children and grandchildren, her sons-in-law Louis (MacDermott) and Aidan (Henry); daughters-in-law Rosemarie (Elliott) and Áine (Lenehan); sister Anne (Treacy) (USA), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, former work colleagues, and a wide circle of friends. Predeceased by her sisters Loreto and Carmel, and by her brother, MJ. Mourned by her son, Jonathan; her niece, Orlaith; her nephew, Darragh; and by her close friends and former colleagues.
